Wisconsin ain't looking so elite right now. Utah seems a bit of a stretch. I would move Miami down a level--they are a relative johnny come lately compared to those peers.

It's obvious people don't understand why the college football blue bloods are called that.

Miami is not, and never has been, a blue blood of any kind.

I enjoy that we use the term blue blood, as it basically means you’re pale and in-bred.

Was thinking the same thing.

And BE says you have bad takes.

Takes can't be bad when I agree with them.

If you take a certain 8-year run away from Miami, they're basically Colorado.

You can take any 8-year run from a blueblood and they're still a blueblood.

Not if you take the 19-ots away from the Wolverines.

An Affordable, Entertaining Midwest City Beats Orlando As A Top Recreation Destination For 2025

The easiest way to win over your residents or visitors? A long, long list of things to do — bonus points if it's a diverse one, too. A 2025 report by WalletHub has revealed the best U.S. cities for recreation and leisure. Facilities, costs, park quality, and weather were all scored to determine the top destinations where residents and visitors can enjoy a range of activities to keep their bodies and minds in top shape, from art galleries to hiking trails.

Las Vegas ranked No. 1, primarily due to the sheer number of facilities it offers, ranging from music venues and zoos to basketball courts and playgrounds. In WalletHub's 2024 report, Orlando ranked No. 2, but this year, Cincinnati took second place, kicking Orlando down to No. 3.

Tennessee is an interesting case.  #2 behind Bama in the SEC for like 80 years.  So in terms of wins and win%, good...but no Heismans and like 2.5 NCs.....and the SEC pack has kind of caught up to them (UGA, Florida, LSU).

Sort of like a lesser UM, should have more hardware for all those wins.

How do you rank the months, based solely on their Holidays?

How do you rank the months, based solely on their Holidays?
  • 12. April - Are there even any holidays?
  • 11. August - Like April, I'm not sure there are any... But it's also super hot.
  • 10. March - Sure, St Patrick's Day... But I'm not Irish and too old to go out and get crazy.
  • 9. October - I don't like Halloween and I don't get Columbus Day--I'm sorry, Indigenous Peoples Day--off work.
  • 8. June - Essentially no holidays all month. But I'll slot it ahead of the previous four because I get Juneteenth off of work.
  • 7. September - Obviously Labor Day, and the kids go back to school after a long and annoying summer of them being around. Three day weekend, often some sort of cookout/etc... Always good.
  • 6. May - Memorial Day, also a three-day weekend. I put it ahead of September because it's before the summer heat really hits, but it has that hopefulness of "the summer is approaching" before you've gotten sick of the heat.
  • 5. July - Obviously the 4th of July. Put ahead of the previous two because Memorial Day should have a level of somber reflection that isn't festive, while Labor Day isn't all that important to me because I'm not a communist. Whereas the 4th is celebratory, but it also usually has the whole cookout thing happening and then we blow shit up.
  • 4. February - Obviously Valentine's Day, when my wife and I have a nice romantic meal at home. And President's Day, so no work. And the Super Bowl, which isn't exactly a recognized holiday, but I consider it to almost be one.
  • 3. January - There's New Year's Day to kick off the new year (and sleep off NYE), and there's a lot of football both college and pro. Plus I get MLK day off work every year.
  • 2. December - I don't want this to be here, because Christmas is a lot of work... But Christmas is also a time for family and celebration, and it leads into NYE, when we have family traditions. Plus even when I'm actually working between Christmas and New Year's, it's super quiet and I can get a lot done because I'm not being bothered.
  • 1. November - Thanksgiving, of course. My favorite of the "big 3". I don't get Veteran's Day off, but that one is always at least a little bit meaningful given a brother and a BIL who both have served and been deployed during wartime.
