Michigan opens in Vegas as a 16.5 point favorite. SP+ has Michigan as a 24 point favorite.

Hopefully Mike Morris and Blake Corum will be back in time. Both remain to be seen.

This game kind of scares me. Especially if Michigan get overconfident and thinks they're already in the playoff no matter what.

There could always be a good ole fashioned Spoilermaker.

Barring some sort of hexy Purdue magic of the like, probably a blowout.

O’Connell is a very good QB.  Michigan needs to keep him off the field and pressure him when he’s on it.

wonder how Corum's knee and Edwards' right hand will be in a week. would be nice if Corum can actually cut and Edwards doesn't have to wear a cast on his right hand.

It would be nice if Corum is back but I think Michigan needs DE Morris back more.  Kind of amazing Michigan beat the Buckeye's in Columbus with their best player on offense and on defense out.

There is no "thinking" about it, they are.  For Michigan this game is only about seeding and even there I'm not sure that it matters.

First, Ohio State is 11-1 and will likely be ranked #5 by the CFP.  Michigan isn't falling below the Buckeyes even if they lose so they are absolutely in regardless of the outcome of this game.

Purdue has a lot more on the line because with a win they go to the Rose Bowl as League Champions for the first time in a LONG time.  With a loss they drop a lot.

As far as CFP seeding:
  • Michigan is #1 only if they win and UGA loses.
  • Michigan is #2 if they and UGA both win and also if they, UGA, and TCU all lose.
  • Michigan is probably #3 if they lose and TCU wins.
  • Michigan could possibly be #4 if they lose while TCU wins and USC wins convincingly.
How much difference does it make?  Well the difference between #2 and #3 is only jersey color so who cares.

This game matters IF UGA loses but that is highly unlikely.  Also, even there depending on who #4 is it is entirely possible that Michigan would be better off at #2 facing TCU than at #1 facing USC.

If Michigan loses this game they more than likely simply drop from #2 to #3 and end up in the same game but with different colored jerseys.

Looks like Michigan DT Mazi Smith will be out for the Big Ten championship game.

USC looks scary to me.

I feel like TCU is probably the more scary team. They are more well rounded.

USC's defense is BAD bad. That team is basically a one man show. Caleb Williams. UGA slows him down they win the game going away. TCU has more ways to beat you and while they don't play elite defense they do at least play some defense- and USC well they play NO defense.

TCU also has the advantage of being named TCU.
