Yeah, but ultimately the car hasn't really "changed" since maybe the 1930s...
They've gotten faster, more reliable, have a whole load of new creature comforts, have largely shifted from manual to automatic, but the basics haven't fundamentally changed at all.
We're potentially on the cusp of a fundamental change though, if we can get to L4 autonomy.
But otherwise, I wouldn't put even the 1950s to 2020s automotive change as anything more than evolutionary. In the past 30 years, we've seen truly revolutionary technologies arise in other domains.
