In the latest edition of “What’s Going on in Boulder Today?” the Colorado Buffaloes and head coach Deion Sanders have lost their only special teams coach.

According to multiple reports but first reported by Sports Illustrated, the Colorado Buffaloes recently saw quality control analyst Trevor Reilly leave the program. Usually, the loss of a quality control analyst would not be of note.

However, Reilly was Colorado’s quality control analyst for special teams and was the only coaching staff member whose sole focus was special teams. According to Bill Connelly’s SP+, the Buffaloes had the nation’s 73rd-best special teams unit last year.

“Let’s just say for instance, if we won 10 games and we had 10 guys go to jail, I’d be up there on the cross right there with Jesus,” Sanders said via The Sporting News. “You wouldn’t give a durn about the 10 wins. You would focus on what’s not right in the program. But we’re thankful. We’re happy. We’re not trying to please nobody but everybody in the locker room and our wonderful AD who gave me this opportunity.”

Colorado coaches coming to blows - from Athlon Sports:
"In a recent interview with Athlon Sports’ Colorado Buffaloes publisher Steve Corder, ex-Buffaloes assistant coach Trevor Reilly revealed he got into a fistfight on campus with one of his former peers shortly after tendering his resignation from the program in early August. Video of the incident between Reilly and graduate assistant Josh Jynes was captured by security cameras and viewed by Athlon. In the video, a giddy Buffaloes assistant coach Warren Sapp narrates the incident, making light of the situation by providing blow-by-blow commentary."

"A source close to the program told Athlon that the August incident was not the first altercation between Reilly and Jynes, who allegedly almost came to blows in the Buffaloes weight room earlier this year."

I have always liked him, even at Jackson State, but his Colorado tenure has made it clear he has no business coaching.  If you can out talent everyone at Jackson State, sure.  You have 2 first round picks at a low level FCS team.  He can't coach, and doesn't understand that just putting NFL talent on the field isn't enough

you can switch out QBs, RBs, TEs, WRs, punt returners and cornerbacks

it's tough starting 5 new guys on the O-line every season
