Syracuse was up 45-7 on WMU at halftime yesterday, then scored 3 in the 2nd half with reserves

Iowa better put up 40+ in that game, or it ain't happening

Go ask city of Durham or maybe Oberlin College what happens when you keep your scruples and pretend that due process doesn't matter cuz this time it's really bad...and things didn't look so good w Nasser matter.

We can't operate as a society like vigilantes especially when you are dancing around potential obligations of $100m

they put up 24 on Utah State. Idaho State put up more points on Utah State.

I'll believe Iowa puts up 40+ on someone when I see it.

But you're right...if they don't light up the score board vs WMU, they ain't getting to 25ppg.

I don't see what the big deal is. Keep Mel around for life at MSU. I say give him another 10 year $100 million extension. 20 years, $200 million. Lets make it happen.

MSU could have saved themselves $100 million plus litigation costs by sacking him then.

Northwestern 2.0
I don't get why they rushed out and handed him or any other mediocre at best coach that contract.I realize bad timing on MD leaving but give one staff member the interim tag and see where it gets them. Then take the time and zero in on a a vetted up and comer, pretty simple chit.tOSU did that with Fickell before URBZ who worked out well until he didn't

I think a yellow flag was that once they signed him to keep him away from LSU, LSU's backup plan was Brian Kelly.  It's almost as if being an asshole was a prerequisite of that search

they (admin/presidents/boosters at MSU) over-reacted, that's why they gave him that contract.

a) they gave him way too much credit for beating Michigan in '20 and then gave him too much for having that remarkable turnaround season in '21. Michigan was terrible in '20- that win wasn't that big a deal. And then let's face it....KW III is why they were so good in '21. He was that transcendently great- that one guy could lift an entire team from probably 7-8 wins to 11. And btw KWIII got jobbed from going to the Heisman ceremony and being a 1st rd pick. If he was at Bama/UGA/Mich/OSU/TX/OU - he's 100% in NYC at the Heisman ceremony and he's a 1st rd pick. He got screwed. And he's put the NFL on notice cause he was insane as a rookie.

b) they over-reacted and were scared of losing him so they threw a giant bag of money at him without really looking at the situation and going....wait a second...is this guy really that good and worth that much?

Watching Texas at Alabama this morning the thought entered my head that there isn’t a B1G team that could beat either of them.
A decade of Victory over Penn State.

All in since 1969

My thought was the opposite, that there might be like 8 teams who could win it this year.  I think both teams are very good, but not elite, and could still be in the CFP.  Granted if Georgia rolls their first legit opponent, I might pivot

They overreacted alright but MSU had already gave him more than enough before the LSU rumors - that were prolly BS. W/O looking back  I don't remember him being on anyone's short list or that He was the front runner for another pervs position in Baton Rouge. Sure he coached under Saban,Tressel,Smart and in the League but nothing by himself. I could be remembering wrong though but where is this stellar resume'?

this.

Bama is not good. That QB sucks. The OL is BAD. They have JAGs and not dudes at WR. Their secondary busts coverages like it’s their job- Texas had dudes wide open all game and they don’t get pass rush without Will Anderson Jr. Texas should’ve beaten them by more than 10, they dropped a couple TDs early.

We have yet to see Georgia and Michigan play anyone. Still basing them being #1 and #2 the best just based off pre-season and what they bring back, but this thing is wide open.
