Prime Time Takes on the Nerds: Week 3 Thread

If USC plays like they did yesterday - cold and rainy would help - they could easily lose in Madison in a month. They are soft.

I give them almost zero chance at PSU this week.

Iowa is going to knock the hell out of UW.

UW will beat Minnesota this year, as God intended.

Green are wins I think they should get (all at home). Blue is tossup. Red is no chance.

If green is all they get, that's 5-7 and we will see a new coach - despite having the Axe back.

PSU - Help
MSU - Hurt
UCLA - Help a bit, mostly hurt
USC - Help (unless the bottom out, then possibly hurt?)
Iowa - Mostly help, hurt a little
Rutgers - Hurt
Maryland - Hurt
Purdue - Hurt
Minnesota - Both help and hurt

He probably can survive if they're help/hurt neutral. Which would likely mean six more wins.

Losing at Ole Miss these days isn't something awful, they are pretty good.  Losing at home to Kentucky?

The buyout is nothing compared to having only 40K (at the most) in an 80K seat stadium. 

Season ticket holder (and donor) numbers are also bleeding out.

That is the real money.

I really kept on waiting for the Ags to kick it into high gear like they did in the 2nd half last week against ASU.  My i s c & a aggie wife was not pleased with the outcome.

Tell her not to worry, because next they'll play us, and they are experts at kicking it into high gear and murdering us in the second half the past two years straight.  

I was interested to see what this team was with a new staff and a metric kilo of new players.  Turns out it just another Brian Kelly team, soft on the lines, can't run in the middle, a defense that looks other-worldly against bad competition but folds against talent, and above all, gets bullied everywhere on the field by a team capable of spitting razors and breathing fire.  

Give me a Les Miles team any day....any of his teams would've run the ball straight down that Ole Miss team's throat, and they wouldn't have been able to do anything about it.  They'd have won an ugly 17-13 game that nobody was happy with except me.  But they could run on anyone not named Alabama, they could clamp down on the greatest of offenses, and they did not get bullied by anyone because they weren't pussies.  

Maybe we'll get better in time under Kiffin, but probably not by next week.

I know this belongs on the NFL thread, but the Wisconsin/Michigan State Alum RB competition was pretty fantastic last night.

Those teams should have done better when they had them in the backfield.  I know, team game and all, but...absolute studs.

Wisconsin played for two Big Ten titles with Taylor, with an Orange Bowl win against Miami and a very close Rose Bowl loss to Oregon.

They did OK back in those days.

Taylor is the best running back to ever play in Madison.

I'm more optimistic about what's happening in Madison.

@PSU: Loss
MSU: leaning loss; Sparty was way more effective against ND that Wisconsin was.
@UCLA: loss: travel, plus playing a team with a pulse.
USC: Loss: just because they struggled on a cross country trip in a classic let-down, doesn't mean they will struggle in Madison.
@Iowa: beat-down loss
