Well, I live in walking distance of Tech, if we walk south we start seeing students, though I think most of their students aren't football "fans".

I'm still amazed at the off campus student housing buildings going up down there, really incredible amenities.

Yeah all the latest apartment housing around UT campus looks more like modern luxury high-rise flats or condos from New York or London or Berlin or Milan.  Definitely not the same as when I was a student.

I used to know the lead developer and programmer for Linnsoft.  Met up with him and his wife in Vegas a number of years ago, they're both Ga. Tech grads/fans.  Actually, I would characterize her more as the fan and he as the alum who did his best to show interest because he was married to her.

Tech has an enormous student population relative to back when.  I had no clue until I looked it up.  I think Kennesaw State may have the largest student body in the state.  Nope, it's Tech with nearly 58,000 students.  KSU is second.

Back to Friday night lights. Good Lord did that drive suck

I haven't been to a high school game yet.  It's weird now that the kids have finished their time in band and football.  We still have tons of friends with kids involved and I love going to the high school games so we'll eventually get to one, but so far we just haven't made the time.  And it feels strange since that was the absolute center of our lives during the fall for the past 4 years.

Me and my friend who passed away were hell-bent on going to a HS game one Friday.  We went to a nearby one, and it was the last game of the regular season.
To our luck, we found an 0-9 vs 0-9 pairing of teams duking it out for their sole win of the season. 

It was bad, lol.  But a good memory.
