What stands out to me about this is how ridiculously light Wisconsin's schedule is. Not only do they miss the current top-3 teams in the B1G-E, but they also get their four toughest games (M, IA, PU, UMD) at home. Their toughest road-trips are Indiana and Minnesota.

Among the top-4:

Wisconsin plays none of the others.
The other three each have two games.

Among the top-6:

Wisconsin has two home games.
The other five each have four games including at least two road games.

All kidding aside, Wisconsin should steam roll their schedule. They will go into the Big Ten Ccg fired up, and if they win that... they will probably have to be Bama bait.

The Big Ten cross-over schedule needs to be redone so that the top 4 teams from the west always play 2 out of the top 4 teams from the east each year. 1 game at home. 1 away. And vice versa for the top 4 teams in the east.

For example, Wisc could have a schedule like this

Year 1: @PSU. Mich, @MD
Year 2. PSU, @Mich, MD
Year 3: @OSU, MSU, @Rut
Year 4: OSU, @MSU, Rut
Year 5: @PSU. Mich, @Indy
Year 6. PSU, @Mich, Indy
Year 7: @OSU, MSU, @MD
Year 8: OSU, @MSU, MD

I love that MSU and Iowa are ranked. It felt so wrong to have 4 in the top 10, and only the same 4 in the top 30.

I've made the argument that the B1G was missing the "Baron Class" and this year it felt very pronounced that that was still the case. (With Wisconsin replacing Nebby as King of the West.)

1. Penn State - We will find out over the month of October if the rankings warranted. Lets gel online, lets gel.
2. Wisconsin - Purdue is a crafty heart filled team this year, lets see how the Badgers handle them AT HOME.
3. Ohio State - Based on potential.
4. Michigan State - Mark found the spark, or so it seems.
5. Michigan - No Offense intended?
6. Iowa - Is it when or if the upset in Kinnick happens this year?
7. Indiana - If Lagow would manage a game, just one. I believe the nation would see what we 10's see in this team.
8. Purdue - Damn that HC hire. Hope he sticks around a few years.
9. Maryland - Teams got grit, just the the horses.
10. Minnesotta - Row row row your boat gentle down the stream ... into next season.
11. Northwestern - Injuries? youth? I don't know either.
12. Nebraska - WTF
13. Illinois - is it basketball season yet? Is that even a statement I can make about Illinois anymore?
14. Rutgers - As an enemy of Rutgers athletic I'm ok with this.
