I miss 25 4 Heisman and Jackal3. Jackal's constant and cantankerous undercutting of his SEC brethren was both funny and necessary. I guess since all the giant homers left he felt like there was no need for him. Speaking of, those old SEC shills made the board a lot more fun, not to mention lively. TexasPacker, Smokey, theumrebel, kwyoung, newmanium, flagator3, razorchique, hawg66, and a bunch of others. Actually, those were mostly the good ones. I forget the names of all the real jackholes that really made that board work.
25 was the greatest internet troll and contrarian I ever met. Dude almost literally wouldn't post unless it was something he disagreed with in full snark. I kind of admired a guy who could hold silence so much and only surface to roll you. I used to have his and jackal's emails, but I don't know that I saved them and it's been years since I communicated with them. Some of the others I still see on fb.
The ACC board had a guy named raraTech who was.....interesting. I honestly think you need guys like that to make a board really good.
There was a Sooner fan on the B12 board whose name I forget who missed his calling as an SEC fan. A homer agitant who didn't fit the vibe, but added some entertainment to the place. He lost a ban bet, and to his credit and my dismay, he never posted again.
I kinda miss TM too, although I'm not sure who he'd even be since he can't rub everybody's nose in SC's success anymore.
I saw buckeyecraaazy mentioned here.....I still see her on fb and communicate via text every now and then. There was a UGA poster who preceded me--Lil Dawg, I think?--who I met irl a few times and I still talk to her regularly. She loves her some Georgia Bulldogs.
ElTigreRex got remarried and fell off the map. I used to hear from him quite a bit, not so much anymore. I can usually get him on fb if I need him, but that mofo is impossible to get on the phone.
Hooky, LBM and nuwildcat......well, that just hurts. I used to have lunch with Hooky regularly when I lived in Austin. He was pretty good to stay in touch via text after I left for a while, but that dwindled over the years. Worst part about nuwildcat was due to my frequent absence here I didn't even know about him until about 10 months after he passed. Some of you know he was an excellent classically trained pianist. A year or two before he left us I asked him to help me with a piano solo I'd always wanted to learn and he took the time to chart out the main parts for me. I got to where I could play most of it but never have taken the time to clean up the odds and ends. It's still my goal to tackle that and do it justice....the only tribute I know how to pay to such a nice guy.
