Man, I hate to say it, but opening week against Rutgers is huge.  I don't think any MSU fans expect anything out of this team, but I think it's a good show to recruits and momentum to prove that it's still viable, even at absolute rock bottom.  With a new staff, no offseason or spring, and basically all new starters on offense, in the Big Ten east, to still win a couple games.  If they go 3-5, I think that's solid, although I'd pick 2-6.  But if they lose the opener, that is looking like 0-8 in a hurry.

OSU gets to open with two "Helmets" and close with a third.

That will establish right out of the gate if they are a contender or pretender.

This is the nicest thing someone has said about the Scott Frost Huskers.

Oh come on now. It isn't as though I picked them to win the B1G West, as did all of the "experts" over the past two off seasons. O0

I'd just like to see 8 games played.  Who cares about the scheduling.

I think an ideal 12 game schedule has 2 pastries, 4 games a good team should win, 4 testers against good opponents, and 2 teams at the top level.

A somewhat better than average team should end up 7-5 or 8-4.  A very good team might be 10-2, and an elite team 11-1.

The Big certainly showed it's appreciation to UNL for fighting to have BIG football in 2020.

Isn't it just the original 9 game schedule, with one crossover game removed?

Yes... Rutgers was dropped for UNL.   Also, I believe Wisky was moved to a home game in lincoln so next year can be an away game in Madison... you know... when crowds are back.

btw.. fully expected it.   It has been the norm since joining.  I guess we can thank the fan base and the $$$ UNL adds to the big games via viewership.
