Moral victories suck, but Iowa needs to actually try today.  I don't want them to stay on the bus and lose by 17+ yet again.

If they don't want to be there, then they need to decline bowl invites and let someone who really wants to be there play instead.

I think Delaney wants the bowl revenue

or is it a bowl where the expenses eat up all the $$$

Usually Iowa travels very well, but this year seems to be the exception.  I don't think Iowa has even come close to selling out their allotted tickets (to be fair, I don't think BC will bring a lot either) so expect to see thousands and thousands of empty seats tonight.

The bowl payout is decent (4.2M) so it should be enough to cover expenses, but I wouldn't be shocked if Iowa ultimately ended up in the red when it's all said and done.

Flying to NYC this time of year doesn't appeal to this Iowan at all

much rather drive to Shreveport and play golf

Big swing around halftime.  BC had all the momentum with a 7 point lead, a shanked punt and the ball to start the second half.

Missed a FG and went three and out to open the second half, Iowa came right down and tied it up.

Dillon was limping around quite a bit, and had nothing left in the second half.  Ballgame.

I'm glad Iowa righted the ship and got a bowl win.  No, it's not like winning the Rose or even the Capital One/Citrus bowl, but hey, I'll take it.  Gives the Hawks some additional positive momentum going into the offseason.

I'm not going to lie, late in the 2nd quarter, when BC was moving the ball at will, I thought to myself, "here we go again, this is going to be yet another bowl blowout".  Then Iowa made some of the best second-half defensive adjustments I've seen all year - they really bottled up AJ Dillon and effectively the BC offense.  Their offense wasn't great by any stretch, but it did just enough to move the chains when they had to.

I wouldn't be surprised if some of the team's leaders stepped up at halftime and told their teammates to find their motors and crank it up another gear.  The upperclassmen (seniors, especially) I'm sure are sick and tired of all the ugly bowl performances and saw this as their opportunity to snap that skid and give next year's squad something to build on.

Good win.  BC is a pretty fair team (I'd wager they're one of the 40 best teams in the country or so) - not unlike Iowa actually with sound defense and emphasis on the run game.

I am sorry.  This bowl needs to be gone from the Big Ten bowl lineup.

Playing in an expensive cold-weather city in a baseball stadium not built for cold weather is just an awful idea.

The frozen field in this year's game was just an terible surface to play on.  Both teams were slipping and sliding all ovee.  Who's idea was this? Even if the Big Ten insists on playing in New York,  why not insisting on an NFL stadium with heated coils?  Delaney needs to be better next time.

I'd suggest the field didn't hurt Iowa as much as people would state.  If anything, it shrank the width of the field, making this a fight in a phone booth, which I think Iowa was set up to win this year.   They were very physical at the point of attack.
I'm not a fan of the NY bowl either.   My wife and I both talked about the expense of NY if Nebraska ever ended up in that bowl.  Ultimately, she'd go to see the Holiday lights, but the layout doesn't appear to be fan friendly.    I'm not against northern bowls.. in fact, I'd like to see more of them.  But a converted baseball field and bad seats for fans makes this a very unappealing bowl game.

If Delaney is insistent on NYC, fine.  But that game should be in a football stadium where they can actually play a cold weather game, not that mess.

NYC may or may not be a selling point, but is new Yankee Stadium any more of a selling point than MetLife Field?  If it is, go during the summer and catch a Yankees game.

Well Big Jim just has to move the B1G Baseball Tournament to Yankee Stadium.

I'm sure he'd love to play the basketball tournament there too.
