What kind of communist roots against the Globetrotters?
I lost a bundle betting on the Washington Senators...

What?! I thought they were due!

Gee thanks for the love.  In any event when it comes to the apocalypse I'm fond of the supervolcano under Yellowstone erupting.
Meteor would get the job dome quicker. I fear burning and drowning. Everything else is fine.

Last year they drafted Drake and LaMelo Ball - how could you bet against them?

Agreed. The supervolcano under Yellowstone would probably take me out nearly instantly, but you folks nearer the East Coast would have weeks/months of unrest, rape, pillaging, and who knows what else before the eternal winter sets in... That would get unpleasant.

Of course, the problem with any meteor large enough to take us all out is that we'll see it coming. Ever see Seeking A Friend For The End Of The World? Good movie. Tragically beautiful. But seeing society in the last couple of weeks, when everyone knows the end is nigh, is a bit of a harbinger of what it might be if SMOD'2020 actually does kill us all.

Not necessarily.

‘It snuck up on us’: Scientists stunned by ‘city-killer’ asteroid that just missed Earth

https://www.washingtonpost.com/nation/2019/07/26/it-snuck-up-us-city-killer-asteroid-just-missed-earth-scientists-almost-didnt-detect-it-time/

This asteroid wasn’t one that scientists had long been tracking, and it had seemingly appeared from “out of nowhere,” Michael Brown, a Melbourne-based observational astronomer, told The Washington Post. According to data from NASA, the craggy rock was large, an estimated 57 to 130 meters wide (187 to 427 feet), and moving fast along a path that brought it within about 73,000 kilometers (45,000 miles) of Earth. That’s less than one-fifth of the distance to the moon and what Duffy considers “uncomfortably close.”

Let's each, at the bare minimum pick one team to follow that is still planning to give it a go. You don't need to declare right away, but make sure that you pick one before the season starts.

This just set sets up for a disappointing jinx when the rest of the conferences are at risk and under pressure from scared university leadership to cancel their seasons. Anyway, for now, I'm going to adopt Nebraska. We're due for a classic, late-90s burnout between K-State and the Huskers.

Yes, if you pick a team that bows out, then you of course get a mulligan, and you can pick another team from the remaining pool.

Just going to play it safe then.

There is no need to play it safe. You get as many do overs as you need. Go hog wild.

Not if we're sleeping. I don't care if China and Russia see it coming. :67:

Didn't my man issue a self-suspension?  He probably had a Hugh Freeze dream that got a little too spicy
