Yeah, that’s a tough one for the announcer. He’s having what he thought was a private conversation. Oh well. Gotta be carful anytime you are talking into a microphone.
WVU has a crusty old guy named Jay Jacobs who has been the color guy for basketball games on radio for years. It’s getting to the point he sounds too much like a fan during games. He gets frustrated with poor play and becomes overly critical of the players, imo. He’ll take little jabs at the players he’s fed up with on air during games. These local announcers are obviously all fans but they have to maintain some level of professionalism on air.
But I get that Dolphin thought he was off-air. Sounds like a fair punishment to me.
