I'm not sure what action they can take. Pay the players to participate? The whole business model for the bowl games is rooted in not paying the players.
pay the conference less for less attractive content
would also be the same for the TV contracts - bidding
when TV ratings slide - revenue slides

How do you enforce this on players leaving for the NFL? They're not employees. They're not under contract.

What, some first round pick is going to stay in the bowl game and risk millions so his conference can get a bigger bowl payout that they can't legally give him a cent?

nothing you can really do about it

just encourage a team culture of every game is important and each player is a teammate that relies on each other

if the thought of protecting your future earning power comes into view, not much you can do

when are these future NFL kids going to realize this with 2 or 3 games to go in the reg season?

Well they can start by not expanding the play offs and extending the season. That many seem beholden to,maybe one game play in to the final 4 even that may be a stretch

all true. which is why jacksonville taking Etienne 25 made no sense to me. They should've tried to trade up 4 picks and take DE Kwity Paye with the 21st pick. getting a rb on a crap team there made no sense.

they could've had the two most important positions on the team solved- QB and DE. I'd say LT and CB are the next most important. give me QB and DE first.

You're hilarious.

expand the playoff. that is the only solution.

So you've thought of every single other possible solution and deemed them ineffective?

Where do you find the time?!?!

And after expansion the only solution to the 9th or 13th place teams very vocally feeling left out is another playoff expansion.

Anyway, Fresno State wins the New Mexico Bowl 31-24 over UTEP.

Let's just do a 64-team playoff!

Which 2 schools from P5 conferences get the boot?

gotta protect that draft stock. is an absolutely horrible QB year. Pickett and Corral will both get drafted way ahead of where they should be.
But after he got through with MSU he would probably go to the top of the draft.

Wow, gonna be a REALLY fun game to watch, now.

At what point are the bowls going to start taking action on this?  There's a fuck-all reason to watch MSU vs Pitt now.
When it affects the bowl games' checkbooks, they're going to start taking some sort of action, right?
Tell me about it. I have Peach Bowl season tickets. They were going to be difficult to sell. Probably won't be able to give them away now.

As far as the Bowl's are concerned I don't think many of them are concerned about ticket sales. Most of them are nothing more than TV studios for ESPN.
