Other P5 Championship races heading into week 11
« on: November 05, 2023, 03:05:28 PM »
ACC:
7-0 Florida State clinched their spot. Their most likely opponent is 5-1 Louisville.

There are six 2-loss teams still in the mix but Louisville already beat five of them and doesn't play the other (UNC) so the Cardinals are a prohibive favorite to play the Seminoles in the ACCCG.

One interesting note is that both Louisville (Kentucky) and Florida State (Florida) have OOC games the last week of the season so the CG match will likely be set early.

SEC:
The SECCG match up will almost certainly be Bama/UGA. Both clich by winning either of their two remaining league games or by their closest contenders (Miss/TN) losing a game.

Tennessee and Ole Miss are still mathematically in the race but they need to win out AND for UGA/Bama to lose out.

B12:
Texas and Oklahoma State are both 5-1 and the favorites but there are five teams at 4-2 still in the race.

P12:
Washington (6-0) and Oregon (5-1) are in the lead but there are four 2-loss teams (USC, OrSU, Zona, Utah) still in the mix.

Bama and UGA have only met thrice before in the SEC CG.  Two of the games were decided on the last play, as I recall.
