Seeing Cincydawg miniaturized for posterity so that all who come after may know of his tiny greatness.  That's what made me happy today.

Also, it's 2nd Saturday, thanks to Labor Day.  That, too.

The guy how made mini-me is primarily a jeweler who we met at an arts fair.  We see him when he comes into town, recently up in Marietta.  He has really nice jewelry, but as a side gig he makes tiny football players for guys who still play that electric football game of yore.  He sent me some photos of them, they also are very cool.  My wife sent him some photos of me on the mound and he made that figurine.  The likeness is amazing to me.  He got the right number of name on the back.  He lives down in Clearwater, FL.

So, time to kick my conditioning into gear.  I eased off when summer baseball was here.  Now I hit the gym and the pool daily with a lot of stretching.  My swimming is coming along, and I'm not a great swimmer by any stretch.

I had bought a spare tire for the Tucson a while back, it sat in the trunk, not a huge deal, but a bit annoying.  My stepson, who is very handy, figured out how to put it beneath the trunk cover, I had never looked under there.  There was some kind of plasticky cover I thought was "it".  So now the spare and kit are completely under the trunk cover.  Normally the Tucson comes with some spare tire "kit" which is unimpressive.

My Aggie daughter surprised us by coming into town on Sunday.  That made me very happy.  We made her home-cooked meals, she got to sleep in her own bed with no roommate, and we all watched a movie together.  It was a great time.

I probably won't see her again until 10/17 when we might go to College Station for the football game against The Citadel.  But I'll be okay.  It really helped getting to see her this past weekend.

Hope your son is a UT fan, otherwise you're outnumbered by Aggies 2 to 1.  That's a dangerous cult to be outnumbered by.

He's got a much better chance of getting into A&M than UT so he's starting to lean that way.  It's getting unbearable around here.

In fact, his best friend has a sister at A&M who's a sophomore.  They're going up to stay with her this weekend and go to the TAMU-ASU game.  And then as it happens, my i s c & a aggie wife's Aggie uncle, gave her free tickets to the ASU game as well.  So they're all going to be in College Station this weekend, while I'm in Austin watching the Texas-Ohio State game.

I have a feeling my son's going to become more of an A&M fan this weekend, and I'll inevitably be outnumbered badly, in my own home.  But still, anything that gets that kid excited about going to college, would be a good thing.
