I spent a lot of time working in Europe in my first job after my engineering undergrad, and over there engineers are highly regarded.    In France, Italy, Belgium, the Netherlands, and Germany, they referred to me as "Doctor."  It was a little embarrassing but at the same time, I kinda dug it.

Last night was my wife's niece's sweet 16 party. My wife was drafted to create the "mocktail bar" for the party... 

She ended up picking a "Dirty soda bar", which I know must be cool--b/c I'd never heard of it. 

She was worried it would be flop. Instead it was a raging success. Everyone loved it. 

So I'm happy.
