For whatever reason, I had no idea about the College ring thing until I moved to the south. And damn people here from certain schools love them.
The Canadians seem to have a whole "Order of the Engineer" ring thing going on... One of my former bosses had one and was VERY proud of it. That's one tradition that I'm sure @utee94 and especially @847badgerfan (if it were for PEs) would enjoy...

I spent a lot of time working in Europe in my first job after my engineering undergrad, and over there engineers are highly regarded.    In France, Italy, Belgium, the Netherlands, and Germany, they referred to me as "Doctor."  It was a little embarrassing but at the same time, I kinda dug it.
