Bigger law firms tend to be pretty good for holidays, less good for preventing you from having to work on them. A couple of years back I literally lost every extra day off given over the year because of work demands. But I’m also no longer an employee, so no violins for me.
Kinda the same in a 1 man shop.  It's a "holiday," but that just means I can lock the door and not answer the phone and get some $hit done.  But I take lots of holidays that aren't on the official calendar.  Such as a couple of half days next week to go watch a concert Tuesday night.

Yeah, I'm off tomorrow, except for that 10:30-11:30 AM meeting I have to [virtually] attend...

That one can't be helped much. We've been scrambling for an industry event next Thursday where I'll be on a panel discussion, and tomorrow was the only time we could get our last planning session given that it's coordinating between 4 companies.

I'm taking tomorrow off, for a few doctor appointments. Didn't know it was a holiday.

Gonna stop and get some more gummies. Haven't had an alcohol cocktail for a while now.

It's weird watching friends (and my wife) get hammered at the bars.

Have the meeting in a sauna.

You live in Texico and don't even get Juneteenth off yet?  Our present governor and judicial branch took that additional step to make sure everybody gets along a couple of years ago.

So, no phone answering tomorrow!  Note I didn't say no work.  But it is still up in the air.

Just finished 2 days of hell via zoom.  I may need a proper beverage to unwind tomorrow.
Yeah nobody around here gets Juneteenth off.  Maybe state workers?  I don't think I know any, anymore.

Also, got an Endo appt. this afternoon, so that means I don't even have to use any time off for it.  Same imaging that caught my kidney cancer caught lumps on my thyroid, but the kidney took priority, and it took forever to get in with Endo here.  They're doing the aspiration today (basically the equivalent of a biopsy, for a thyroid), but the doc already said due to good function and good lab results, and statistics, it's almost certainly not cancer.  They'll check to rule it out, and then that's one more thing not to be bothered about.

I've seen both of you hammered at a bar.

I think I have, anyway.

DevilFroggy and Erin got me hammered at the same time, so it's possible I'm not sure what I remember.

State workers in the TSUS do, anyway.  I'm not sure if it's all state workers or if that stuff can vary by agency/school system.

I'm no medical person, but my understanding is it's one of the better kinds to have, if you have to have it.  They'll probably remove his thyroid and he'll be on thyroid meds from then on.  I don't think it's a very aggressive one that spreads quickly.  Hopefully there's no more to it than that.

Probably not me because I was always driving. Of course, things were a bit different 20 years ago (yes, it's been almost that long).

You're gonna blame @DevilFroggy ? Was he dumping booze down your throat?

Having Friday off.  Making a 7am Tee time( first of the day)

Teeing off at 6:50, alone.  Playing a relaxed round of golf in an hour and 45 minutes and being back home at 9:15 to eat breakfast with the Mrs. And tinker around the yard and boat.

yes, he doesn't seem too worried.  Just waiting to hear what the big city doc says on Monday.
