My FIL likes to go there when he visits from Colorado.  I don't get the appeal.  It's fast-food.  I won't get into the ranking wars some are so passionate about when it comes to rank-ordering fast-food joints.  It's still fast food, and it goes in the "I don't want it" bin with all the other fast food places.

Whataburger is pretty good and has a lot of variety for a fast food joint.  But yeah, it's still just fast food.

And actually it's notoriously slow for fast food if we're being honest.

We're getting Whataburger around here - 4 in total.

Should I be happy?

I've never been to one.

Like everything else....tasty in the 80's.

Gas $3.34 today.  About 30¢ cheaper than the last time I filled up.  Happy, and even happier if that trend continues.

2.99 at my Costco today.  Why is it cheaper here, yet again?

I want to say one of the benefits of Costco membership is they offer cheaper gas than local competitors by a noticeable margin.  But I don't know that for sure, just repeating what I think I remember members telling me, and also don't know if that explains the price difference or not.

It's often cheaper by a nickel or dime, but on the way home I actually saw it at another place-- an Exxon maybe-- for the same.

It's consistently cheaper here, I'd say often by 20 to 30 cents per gallon.

Unleaded has been about 2.99 here for weeks.  IN has suspended gas tax.

That's what I thought some others have told me.  Maybe Costco's discounts are not uniform across various cities.

Wife does a lot of grocery shopping at Kroger and gets her gas there with the rewards points.  She routinely earns enough to get around 40¢ off per gallon.  It's quite amazing. Probably means we're paying too much for groceries, but then, HEB doesn't seem to be any cheaper.

Like all other purveyors of gasoline, it depends entirely on when they purchased the load of gasoline that is deposited into their tanks.

Here in the CPTX, perhaps the Costco gas station has larger capacity so purchased the gas they're currently selling longer ago and at higher prices.  Smaller operations have smaller tanks and therefore the gas they've purchased is more recent and therefore selling for less as overall prices decline.

Either way, occasionally my Costco can hit a $0.30 differential but usually it's closer to 10.  And right now it's zero.  Actually it's negative, my daughter filled up today at a place further away from the house for $2.95.

doesn't seem that way

seems more on the price of crude 30 days from being refined than the price from the truck after the refinery and the day into the underground tank at the station
