Yes.  Great point.  Watching vehicles burn or people being beaten is hard for most to get their head around.   But it seems to make a lot of folks happy.

I cut on a short pass for Sling Orange since Texas is in the CWS so my wife could watch them.  I haven't watched cbb or its postseason in probably 8 or 9 years.  Forgot how much I enjoy it.

New York winning anything doesn't make me happy.

Most people from the Second City feel this way.

Sounds like a grumpy thread problem.

A good place for those thoughts.

Nah.   Thats for politics.

Nothing I said was about politics ( although it seems you interpreted it that way).

The World Cup is back, which for my money is the greatest sporting event in existence. Plus it was a little muggy this morning, but a cold front came through and the temperature dropped like ten degrees. So sitting in my sun room watching the Dutch and listening to a steady rain. My dogs are chilling, too.

My guy, you invoked a political talking point like three post ago? You even called it a “talking point.”

I found some joy in good basketball, a fun underdog team and many fans getting a kind of joy they waited a generation for. To my eye, these things can mostly stand alone, and will take joy in them as such.

Went and saw a classic movie at a local theater. A professor spoke afterwards, which was in some ways interesting and maybe went on a little too long, but in general made me quite happy.

Well I never considered that a political talking point.  But I can see how you might.

To the rest of your post here, well said.  Couldn’t agree more. Having lived as a Detroit Lions fan, l can only imagine the joy.  Super happy for them.

Also...Chuys has family meal deals. Their cheapest one is six tacos and costs 30 bucks. But you actually get quite a bit of food - shells, toppings, ground beef, beans, rice, chips, queso, salsa, and their creamy sauce. Plus Uber had a special going on, so I got it all delivered for 35 bucks.

10 pounds of food plus a glass of wine or three plus World Cup...still happy!
