It was cool and I got in a run. Knees might not like it, but for now, happy it happened.

Cindy made this wonderful Chicken Florentine recipe last night (from a classically trained chef friend of hers) with zucchini pancakes that according to AI pairs wonderfully with basmati rice. I chop up the pan-seared chicken breasts smothered in a rich, creamy garlic and spinach sauce and laddled it over the other two. That made me happy for late breakfast.

Going to sign trust and other documents today.  Health care directives, the enchilada.

The trust thing is useful with kids from two previous marriages.

Revocable until one of us passes, and at 147, I’m due.

I am still playing baseball.  My team is awful.  But it’s baseball.  Uniforms, umpires, the fields are a bit rough….

As a little leaguer, having 2 giant divots in the batter's box always made it feel impossible to just have a comfortable at-bat.  One of the things I always marveled at when watching the Braves or Cubs was the perfectly flat, clean batter's boxes.  With those batter's boxes, I couldda been Frank Thomas!

Wiggles has had a notoriously bad infield forever.

Mark Grace once said it was a rock pile compared to playing on the South Side.

The fields at fantasy camp obviously are pristine, you could probably eat off the grass.  We play twice a day, and as soon as a game finishes the ground crew if out there.

The gravel they use in the infield is pretty rough if you slide, but my sliding days are over.  I still wear sliding pants.  The ptcher's mound is where I'm having issues where we play now, there is a hole just off where I usually stride because I'm taller than usual.  I'm a left handed batter so the batter's box holes usually are less there for me.  But I worry about hitting the side of that hole when pitching.  It was so dry there was no way to fill it in, the dirt was just loose dust.  I don't have steel spikes so I can't do much.

We were rained out last week and had an off week Memorial Day.

quit playing ball a while back, still have steel spikes to cut the front lawn with though. As the house is at a slight elevation going down 8°-10° to street level. They work great at the trudge coming back up and semi aerating the lawn to boot

Tomorrow at 9:30 AM is another game, which is good even though we'll get run ruled, probably.  Granted, the other teams are not "great" in any sense, but they usually don't walk many and hit a bit and make normal fielding plays.

Today we had a nice lunch at Pulcinella outside on their porch, probably my favorite restaurant locally.  The owner is always happy to see us.
