It's nowhere near that here.  But, that doesn't stop the College of Education where I work from being our biggest college (most populated, not the most departments).

Yes, I posted national average for brevity.  I can't look up and post every single locale.  LOL

For added context, the national median salary for teachers is only $64k (according to the briefest of Google searches).

In general, unless you know for sure the data population is normally distributed (and it almost never is in the real world), median is a better indicator than average, for several math reasons I won't bore you with.

A top high school teacher can make a lot of money, depending on where they live and work.

At the top public high schools in Illinois (the richer areas, of course) they can make above $100K.

Strong unions up there help them out.

And then there is Chicago. Yes, those numbers are real.

(not going to get into student outcomes here)

not many young teachers want to pass through a metal detector entering the school

I dreamt that I finally made it to one of Fearless's infamous tailgates, and he served me a burger with a slice of pizza in place of the top bun.

It had to be a dream, would have been a nightmare if he broke out the Sharkwater

Heading off to the Dogwood Festival again once wifey gets off the phone to France, which could be an hour or more.

Another terrific day, but hot weather in the offing, we could set a record for earliest day over 90°F.

heck, we had 96 a month ago - that was a record

could use another 10 degrees this afternoon - 2pm tee time makes me happy - gonna be about 55 on the first tee with 20mph breeze and cloudy

happiest about heading to Miles Inn for a schooner and a Charlie Boy with my daughter at noon!
