One Robin showed up a few weeks back and it must be off spring of an offspring from the succession of seasons of Robins that I took to feeding.Any way he arrived when there 8-9-10 inches of snow so no way of getting to ground forage and it was slim pickins on all the bushes, shrubs hedges and such. So i started chopping up raisins, prunes, apricots, cherries and other assorted dried fruits. They have a distinct cluck and I hear but can't quite see him until he emerges from trees/underbrush behind the house. So he knows where to grab some snacks during the ugly weather. Another 6 weeks I'm sure his extended family will be back. He's agrateful little bastard always clucks like "hey thanx" when i walk away 😎
