That's plenty pricey...

The 16 oz ribeye at the country club here is like $45.

Now, you won't find a refrigerator box near the college for $150K, though.

Speaking of Fla, my 24 yo surrendered her $2500/mo one bedroom apartment, and plans on travelling around the country and staying at Airbnb's for less than that.  Not working out great so far, the places in Denver were trash--and a homeless dude threw a rock at her, and she just advised last night she is arriving 2 weeks early home from DC because the housecleaner may or may not have stolen all the furniture from the place she was going to stay.

She does have a long stay in Austin booked I think in February, so maybe I know somebody that can help in a pinch should her ride get stolen and end up in Mexico like the Judge from the county south of where I sit had happen there.  How do you pronounce "free Escalade" in El Spaniolo?

I think i've turned into a cheap human as i've aged.. There's steakhouses around here that are at or above that level, but I look at that and think damn that's expensive. $49 for a 6 oz filet? In my opinion, below is by far the best steakhouse in NE Ohio. Called Strip Steakhouse. Have probably eaten here 25 times and incredible every time. I also consider this the high end and pricing reflects it. Now that being said, when we are in Naples, FL, our two steak places are definitely more expensive, but I can't imagine consistently paying much more than below.

I eat steak for breakfast lunch and dinner and get it directly from the farm and would be sick if prices were anywhere near this.

I'm happy that steak and baked potato is on the menu for Wednesday...

A lot cheaper when you can make it yourself at home.

I’m not particularly adept at making my own steaks, but I’m also cheap and thus almost never eat steaks at a restaurant.

and often when I do, I’m still not that impressed.

yup, I've never had dinner at the place I mentioned on my own dime.  Always on the company tab or someone else was buying.

I've always been cheap.  Brought up that way.

My neighbor's kid was apparently on a national championship Pop Warner team, won in NC this weekend.

Snowy day in Columbus, but I don't have to go anywhere today or tomorrow so a fire and some movies and sports is a pretty delightful way to spend the weekend. Making beef stew tomorrow so hopefully the house smells good too.

Very happy today because I found out last night that my daughter, who made All-Region band this year but missed the cutoff to advance to try out at Area, has been bumped up one slot, and will now advance to Area after all.  Apparently one of the 3 kids who finished above her at all-region orhcestra, won't be available.  She was the first one out, but now she's in.  I told her she "pulled a Maverick" and she had no idea what I meant.

It's been her dream to make State in her final year, and this gets her one step closer.  She actually felt she had a pretty awful audition when she was one place out of advancing and she knows she can do a lot better.  Hoping she has a great day when the Area auditions happen in January!

I was overserved at the Christmas Party last Nite then it took about 1/2 hr to fire up the Blower at 13° this morning. After skipping coffee & breaking out the blower & changing out 2 different plugs and priming the fack out of it finally woke after 50 rips of the cord(literally). Completed 3 homes drives & walks - did I mention after 13° and being overserved and now I'm in by the fire with a mug of piping hot Honduran fair trade breakfast blend.

I'm also happy that Fernando Mendoza won the Heisman and I wish him all the luck that Troy Smith had after winning his Heisman :cheer: . We all noticed one thing at the over serving Christmas Party - that Mendoza looked exactly like Scut Farkas in the Christmas Story w/o the red hair. And his mum was easy on the blood shot eyes also. That is all

Is that JAKE'S ON THE LAKE? Been there a few times never had the steak though. The Lake Perch Dinner or the Blackened Walleye I can attest to it's correctness
