This was accomplished on Saturday, so perhaps it's not what made me happy "today", but I'm still happy about it.

On Saturday, I hit the milestone of 2,000 total Peloton-tracked workouts! Over 800 strength workouts (a lot of core), over 600 rides, and nearly 400 stretches, along with some other things (walks, meditations, etc) thrown in. And that's been on track for 15K minutes/year since the start of 2023, or a little over 40 minutes per day.

I'm a little past 39 months of ownership, so that's averaging a little less than 2/day when you put it all together.

I'm not lazy. I actually enjoy being active. But this is the first exercise thing that's ever stuck for me long term.
Wow. That's serious dedication. Great to read the core training. It's the one area I had to adjust in life. Grew up always thinking about strength with bench, squat and deadlift and older in life I've learned how valuable core and functional movement training is. 2,000 is a heck of a milestone so congrats. I'll have to scope out our Peloton progress more often to keep me going there. Winter months tend to be my uptick on the Peloton since we are close to crummy weather in NE Ohio.

Secondly, happy today from my sunburn from doing a golf outing at a place i'm sure MB knows well at the Medina Country Club yesterday. Apparently they are building a 35 million dollar new clubhouse. It's what happens what a billionaire buys a local golf course and wants to transform it. Have only been on the course 3 times now since my life changing surgeries. And apparently the core training and functional training pays off. Two different drives over 300 yards yesterday.  That's probably 50 yards further than i ever drove a ball the previous 30 years of golfing. Now the putting green on the other hand, does not care about core training at all.

I was able to create 1962 Wisconsin for Whoa Nellie, with some guesswork for sacks.

My customers can now play out the classic 1963 Rose Bowl.  :singing:

Based on the game vs USC, I thought Vander Kelen was really good.  His season stats...are not great.  He super over-performed in a blowout and thus the misconception on my end.

Peyton Manning threw for 493 yards against Florida in '96, but the Gators were up 35-0 twenty minutes into the game.

I've got to share this.
It's a ho-hum, plain description of the play-by-play, but I appreciate the images of the players as they do something.  Very useful, especially back then, I imagine.
Hell, as far as I know, someone could have dubbed over the video years later.  I don't really care.

Oddly enough, I haven't noticed any increased distance on the golf course. Probably the fitness isn't doing anything to improve my janky swing :57:

I'm not a 300 hitter... Although I had one day at a course when it was REALLY windy that I hit a couple well over 300 and got down in two on par 5's with wedges... But it was a REALLY big tailwind lol.

For over a year I was doing daily core--I fell off a bit earlier this year, but I'm trying to get back there. I still actually have some abs tho...

I'm happy I've been released from the hospital for the 3rd time in 4 months for infections in my feet/legs no libations for a while as I'm on antibiotics and off my feet

A while back, we got friendly with this Tunisian fellow who has a booth at the local farmer's market selling items carved from olive wood from Tunisia, very nice fellow, bought some stuff.  He told us he had opened a furniture store in Marietta NW of us a spell and he asked us to visit, which we did.  He explained the store was divided into sections, one part was appliances operated by an Indian guy he knows, his part was, well, nice in spots, and rough in spots, but the nice stuff was nice, and inexpensive.

In chatting he mentioned a French restaurant a bit further in Marietta which we tried, and it was good.  The lunch bill with tip was under $50, which is good these days.  I had beef bourginon (boeuf).  My wife liked hers, and they have a bakery where we spent more money on ... baked goods.  My wife ate the croissant on the way home and said it was great.

So, a nice find for us, it's a 30 minute drive with no traffic.  Marietta appears to be thriving, a lot of traffic and "stuff" around their square.  It's out past the baseball park NW up I75.

So, something good came out of the trip

Out of the horsepital is a plus.   No libations during Octoberfest is a minus.
