I mentioned how I'd ordered the Apple Watch Series 10 for my wife but it was canceled.

Well, although it's still out of stock at Costco, it's all good at Amazon, and at the same [discounted] price as Costco had. I'm assuming it's largely because the Apple Watch Series 11 is due to be released any time now, so they're blowing out stock. My wife doesn't care; she just wants a new one because her Series 4 is starting to have battery life issues.

So I ordered it for her... That'll apparently be here before 3 PM today :72:

More golf talk!

I'm not a super competitive golfer, but I won the A group of our league calcutta with a gross 75 / net 68.

The top 8 gross scores played another 9 holes for the league championship. I entered that in 6th and finished 5th.

I put in quite a bit of work over the last couple years, so to have my game show up on the big day made pretty happy.

So, we go to Costco, which we do every few weeks, fill up the tank at $2.70 per, which is pretty good, and I'm bopping around the wine section, bought about ten btls, and I see this fellow next to it selling grills.  He motions for me to come over, my wife is somewhere else, so I stroll over and say "We can only have electric where we live.".

Lo and behold, one of his grills is a pellet/electric.  Fancy schmacy Traeger grills.  He launches into his spill and frankly I'm hooked, but figure my wife will veto my notion, so I'm safe.  Anyway, I listen more and it is pretty neat, and he says it would be allowed in our condo.  Then my wife shows up and starts putting stuff in a cart, which is not our cart, but we sort that out, and I show her the grill.  Turns out she likes it.  The guy throws in a grill cover (for free) and a small bottle of special umobtanium spices, AND it's $50 off, only in Costco.  So, now it's sitting on our deck, I just preseasoned it.  It also can be powered by a car battery, which I might never use.  Ours is slightly different from this.

I think he might be full of $#!+.

It's a wood fire grill with an electric heat element just used to light the wood...

That doesn't mean that you'll get caught or get in trouble, but I'd think if you actually asked the HOA they'd tell you it wasn't allowed. And if someone complains, I doubt you'll be able to justify to them "but it's electric!" unless they know next to nothing.

Unless he's in cahoots with their HOA Bwarb's right he's definitely barking out of his backside. Be careful and I hope they allow it

Exactly.

If that pellet grill is electric, then so is my gas grill that is ignited by a spark.

Well the nice thing about Costco is that returns are super-easy, even years later sometimes.

Hey, now he can grill salmon and trout outside for the Mrs. and have their very own wilderness experience smack dab in the middle of Hatlanta. You should be taking pointers

Yeah, I doubt anyone would notice.  My wife did a "Karen" once on a unit that had a propane bottle clearly evident on their deck.  I didn't object.  My equivalent is a bag of wood noodles.

It did generate a bit of smoke when I preseasoned it.  There was quite a bit of oily substance on the drip pan.  I have a purely electric grill that works fine for pure grilling and I may use that to grill stuff and start exploring the pellet gizmo for BBQ.  The recipes look interesting.
