Every summer the two movies we have to watch are Jaws and Sandlot.  I love both movies, but I have no interest in watching them in February.  Watching Jaws last night made everything ok

Ever since we bought our house with a pool, 13 years ago, my i s c & a aggie wife has wanted to set up our outdoor movie projector and watch Jaws whilst floating in the pool.  We finally did that a couple of weeks ago.  It was a lot of fun.

I hadn't seen the movie in many years.  It's dated, as you'd expect, but it's still pretty good.  Our kids had never seen it before and enjoyed it.

I expect we'll head to our pool after breakfast.  We nearly always have it to outselves, maintenance free.

It's not a large pool, I can swim about 25 yards end to end, which I try and do several times for exercise.

Went to the pool, it is good exercise, and heat tolerant of course.  We don't have bugs around it much, I saw a wasp today not bothering us.  This evening we're going to my wife's favorite restaurant to celebrate paying off our mortgage.  I like the place too, but it entails driving 4 miles or so and paying to park.  Well, the valet is "free" of course.

This place is "Olde Atlanta", hard to get a reservation, I'm probably the poorest person dining there.

I'm looking at the dinner menu, not sure what to order, scallops maybe.

Menus — La Grotta Ristorante Italiano

They have an extensive wine list for the discerning.

Wife is taking me here for an early b-day celebration this weekend.

https://broadwaybyamarsantana.com/

We've only been there once, an anniversary dinner that I went into full radio silence as I'd DVR'd the Purdue/UVA E8 game to watch after we got home lol...
I'd be interested in the roasted beef bone marrow, the crispy pork belly, the branzino, and the beef cheek mole. But man I'd have to know the mole was good because tons of places don't do it very well.

I could probably put this in the "Grumpy Old Man" thread because I hate painting...

But today I'm happy that painting the wall I didn't want to paint...

...is done.

So now the red accent wall that my wife wanted is a gray accent wall that my wife wanted.

had lunch with the brother - buffalo wild wings, tots, queso, and a couple tall draws
stopped by to see the survey crew engineer that my brother and I worked for during summers while in college
Larry is in his mid-70s and not in great health - was good catching up after not seeing him for over ten years

This was a few days ago, but on a very modest car camping trip (with a surprisingly good car camping site), my eldest (who is 20), apropos of nothing, blurts out: "I f^#king love camping!"

I wouldn't make it past that.  The other lost me at capers.  Never developed a taste for those
