Yesterday evening I got an updated golf schedule for my son, which means he's got no golf after school today. 

That means he can drive his siblings home from school and I don't have to go do it. That'll save me at least an hour not being in the car this afternoon. 

That makes me happy.

Or better yet, you can go to Beaumont, which is even closer, and sort of like being in Louisiana, except that you're still in Texas :)

2 hours and 20 minutes from my house to my daughter's in Lincoln or to the stadium.  Easy drive, all interstate.

I can be at 5 different Costcos in 20 minutes. Probably 1-2 more if there's no traffic...

...but this is SoCal, so that never happens during the hours they're actually open.

It's funny, we can both say we're in SE Texas, but we're so far apart we'd be 2-3 states over in a lot of other states.

Silly one here: just thinking about SFGopher graduating high school on Saturday, turning 18 on Sunday, and, generally, watching him grow into a man. Nobody's perfect--he's not--but he is a damn good kid, and he's becoming a damn good man.

It used to be pretty easy to get to Wisconsin and Indiana for us.

I think we could get to the Bahamas or Cuba by boat faster than we could get to Georgia or Alabama.

me too - Iowa, Nebraska, & South Dakota
90 minutes to Minnesooota
90 minutes to Costco in Sioux Falls - 100 minutes to Costco in Omaha

For me it's about 4 hours to the closest part of Oklahoma, 5 hours to the closest part of Louisiana, and 7 hours to the closest part of New Mexico.

I can get to Old Mexico in 3 hours 45 mins.  But sadly, that's no longer a part of Mexico that any Americans need to be visiting.
