I was offered and have accepted a new job as a principal at a charter school in Indy. 27K raise, commute time cut by 66%, an opportunity to make a difference for kids who need it.

Also, I get to play golf tomorrow morning in what should be great weather.

Perfect weather here today, I went running and did double what I hoped to do (my legs are tired).  I'm happy I'm not running now.

We're doing a crawfish boil tomorrow and I just bought a couple cases of beer.  That made me happy.

1 or 2 go to the crawfish or you're doing it wrong.

SFIrish did her annual mothers' day-related show at our local dive bar, which is always a good time. Got to hang out with SFGopher's girlfriends' parents (who came to the show) for longer than I have before, and they are cool people.

Woke up really sick this morning. Headache, no energy, nausia, can’t keep food down, can’t get out of bed. What makes me happy today is how much the pets appreciate my few sick days. After getting their dishes filled for their usual 6am breakfast, the dog and the cat took over the other side of the bed and, nearly 10 hours later, haven’t left my side since.

I made coffee, the weather is rainy/stormy, no running today, probably go to the gym.  My wife is up getting ready to go to her pilates which she really likes.

She keeps claiming it's the greatest thing and I should go back to it.

Something that is great for one person may not be for another.  I think folks like to have confirmation that something is great by getting another opinion, which suggests they aren't convinced.

Got my official approval from DHHS to be my sister's Personal Assistant/caregiver and just in time -- got my sister home from the hospital this weekend after her knee replacement surgery.  After working out a schedule, today was the first day I got to actually get paid for all the personal care work I have done for her for years, lol.  Took a little doing and quite a bit of time for the state to get around to approving me as her personal care assistant/caregiver.  I did discover that is in a pain in the patoot to figure out a workable schedule around her needs and other family duties I have (she lives with me and my hubby and my youngest son). Way too used to just doing what she needs on the spur of the moment compared to having to schedule everything, lol.  I am doubly happy that even though she is 71 years, she is recovering nicely and still has a great sense of humor about all of her health issues.  Not getting paid a whole lot, but she feels better about having me do stuff for her and for her pride's sake, I am not complaining, haha.  Every little bit helps.

My wife has had three hip replacements, which is not nearly as rough as a knee, and rotator cuff surgery, which is a lot worse than a hip.
