Perhaps but you or I wouldn't have bet the ranch on the Silver & Gray after the Michigan Game,would we? And they ended up with the hardware but someone can always rise from the ashes like the Phoenix in the Bowl/Post season. They prolly would have been the favorites going in that season but as we've seen this past year nothings etched  in stone

Well, IMHO, Michigan was the second best team so tying them at their place wasn't a bad performance, it was actually quite impressive.

This tiny aircraft is the Lockheed YO-3 Quiet Star. The YO-3A operated silently at 1,000 feet, or lower, depending on terrestrial background noise. Some pilots were known to have gone unobserved over the enemy at 200 feet. Occasionally, daylight flights were made over the rivers. Crew chiefs would monitor the YO-3A flying over the maintenance section prior to deployment, listening for rattles, whistles or other noises. The propeller, even at 500 feet over the maintenance area, made only a light flutter, heard just as it approached..

1941: Sherwood Anderson, writer, died of peritonitis after swallowing a toothpick at a party.
1942: 32 men died as a result of a chain of events that started when the British cruiser HMS Trinidad accidentally torpedoed itself.
1944: 74 men died when the US Submarine Tang (SS-306) accidentally torpedoed itself during a combat patrol off the coast of Taiwan.
1944: Inventor and chemist Thomas Midgley, Jr. accidentally strangled himself with the cord of a pulley-operated mechanical bed of his own design.
1945: Scientist Harry K. Daghlian, Jr. accidentally dropped a brick of tungsten carbide onto a sphere of plutonium (known as the Demon core) while working on the Manhattan Project. This caused the plutonium to come to criticality; Daghlian died of radiation poisoning, becoming the first person to die in a criticality accident.
1946: Louis Slotin, chemist and physicist, died of radiation poisoning after being exposed to lethal amounts of ionizing radiation from the same core that killed Harry K. Daghlian, Jr. The core went critical after a screwdriver he was using to separate the halves of the spherical beryllium reflector slipped.
1947: The Collyer Brothers, extreme cases of compulsive hoarders, were found dead in their home in New York. The younger brother, Langley, was crushed to death when he accidentally triggered one of his own booby traps that had consisted of a large pile of objects, books, and newspapers. His blind and paralyzed brother Homer, who had depended on Langley for care, died of starvation some days later.
1947: Willie Francis survived an execution by electric chair, when two jolts of current failed to kill him. After a legal dispute which split 5-4 in the Supreme Court, he was successfully electrocuted one year later.

1974 on this date, 10 cent Beer Night at Cleveland, unruly fans stumble onto field and cause Indians to forfeit the game to Rangers with score tied 5-5 in 9th. Cleveland held a second Beer Night promotion on July 18, 1974 , which was completed without incident. This time, beer was sold for 10 cents per cup, but with a limit of two cups per person and increased security measures in place. One of my older bros were there
