We have what our HOA gives us (included in HOA fee) so we don't have any options. And it's all ads from the right. Nothing from the left (yet).

We have a couple of clowns running for the seat vacated by the guy who is running for governor here.

One is a guy from New York, who was a US rep there, but had to resign when he got convicted for insider trading. WTF.

Another is a guy from Illinois - Jim Oberweis. He ran for so many offices up there and lost so many races, people call him the Milk Dud (he owns a dairy).

And there are like 9 more after those guys. Lots and lots of ads. It sucks.

August 18th is a great day. It's primaries here, and also my wife's 65th. We won't be watching TV that night.

if you have a smart TV, you can sign up for service that will probably let you dodge that.

Of course, you have to pay for that and figure it out, which might not be appealing if you are used to the old TV model.

We rewatched the old Toby Maguire Spiderman movie last weekend, and then Spiderman 2 this past weekend.  I remember loving both of those when they came out.  They didn't hold up like I'd hoped--they're fairly campy by today's standards--but I thought they were still fun.  

Got my special-ops fix on a little bit last night.

First watched episode 1, season 3 of Lioness.  Ukraine, as they described, a combination of Star Wars and WWI, trenches and drones/technology.  If it's in any way an accurate portrayal...f'ing frightening.

Then watched the 2nd to last episode of The Terminal List: Dark Wolf.  I was entertained.  

I don't know how many of you watch cooking stuff...

Apparently for about 7 years, there was a show on ABC called The Chew. Featuring Michael Symon, Carla Hall, and Clinton Kelly. I was not aware of it--probably because it was on daytime TV and I have a job. And then it was cancelled. 

Well a number of years went by, and they ended up reviving it on YouTube, with a new title of Chewed Up. https://www.youtube.com/@ChewedUpShow

And being on YouTube, they can swear, make dirty jokes and sexual innuendo, etc... They don't have the stuffiness of corporate network overlords. 

It's quite fun. Good camaraderie between the hosts, and they make some pretty solid looking food. For those of you who actually like to watch cooking shows instead of cooking competition shows, it's pretty solid.

Only cooking show I ever watched or will ever watch was the PBS thing from the 80's with Cajun chef Justin Wilson.

I always liked to watch Giada's show.  Can't say I ever learned any cooking tips or tricks but still seemed well worth my time.
