FYI, I use an app called Just Watch for quick answers to questions like that.  You search for a show or movie by name and it keeps a current list of what streaming platforms it can be found on, and if they're free or require a subscription.  Also shows you what platforms you can rent or buy the show/movie on.  I use it all the time when I hear about interesting things to see if I have something I can stream it on.  Way faster than checking all the services to search if they have something.

Watched Frankenstein over the weekend. Solid. I thought the final act was a little rushed, but a good yarn. I haven't read the book, but the movie was less horror and more story, which sounds more like what I understand happens in the book. But still pretty gruesome throughout.

Also finished the first (only) season of Pluribus. Some episodes are slow, but I like it. Interesting mystery/sci-fi show. I'm annoyed that season 2 isn't likely until maybe 2028. Come on, Apple, that's too long.

Yeah I liked Frankenstein.  I thought the performances were quite good, even if the writing and direction were a bit clunky.  But honestly it was less so than any other screen  adapatation of the story I've ever seen.

Except for Young Frankenstein of course, which was brilliant start to finish.

After I saw SF's post, I asked my wife and we agreed that Young Frankenstein ruined us from possibly enjoying the book or other serious adaptation.

At times, I have contrary views of movies and books, I started reading Lonesome Dove, and also got the movie cued up.  I didn't really like either.  I did watch the entire movie, and I agree the acting was mostly very good, but the plot line .... was too deliberative for me, the book was even worse, I didn't read much before I gave up.

My wife claims "Out of Africa" was a terrific movie, I told her I watched it once and thought it among the worst movies I've ever seen, she wants me to watch it again, but I'd rather have a root canal.

I suspect if I viewed some random list of top 25 greatest movies, I'd like most of them, I'd no doubt rearrange some, and some a bit off kilter movies I really liked, like Kelly's Heroes, The Outlaw Josey Wales, A Good Year, and Road House (the first one).  My son really liked Zoolander, which I found ... OK, sorta, but a bit odd.

So, it's good to have variety.

Wow, one of the worst you've ever seen? That is a hot take.

SFIrish loves it. I like it well enough. It has beautiful scenery shots and is well acted. The story is...well, it is what the story is.

But to each their own.
