Hoffman is incredible in it.  Cool opening sequence, especially if you saw it as an 8 year old boy.

If I'd seen it when I was a kid I probably would've been paying attention to the crane moving around the sporty cars.  As it was, I was mainly caught by surprise at Iko Iko being the song played over that scene.  Don't see many Los Angeles settings with a classic NOLA song behind it.  Interesting choice.  

I also noticed in the intro credits that Hans Zimmer did the music for that movie.  I didn't even know Hans Zimmer was a thing in 1988.
