FYI, Ross Dellenger was an LSU beat guy for years before getting picked up by Yahoo, who recognized his body of credible work. He's not some, er....yahoo....sensationalizing and trying to get clicks.
That said, all this means to me is people are really talking. I don't think he's making it up. But it's just talk. There's 0 chance the conference is going to expel a charter member over this.
I also think there a less than 1% chance LSU actually goes through with anything the league genuinely threatens them over. They're crazy, not stupid.
Also....I wonder why all the focus is on LSU? Texas has one of these NFL cast-offs too. A bunch of schools are trying to work out how to take them. There's way more players involved in this suit than the two "LSU" guys.
My own opinion, there's not much the SEC can do with TROs, but once those expire (and I hope their renderings are not made permanent), I hope the league holds firm and backs LSU down. LSU pushed the lines long before this NIL era in being the first school to pay assistants million dollar salaries, then two-million dollar salaries, escalating a money-war that ultimately was not a good thing imo, and between that existing culture, a political and donor class that's steeped in the amount of corruption they are, combined with Lane Kiffin at the helm.....this was always going to be a runaway train, and one reason I didn't want Kiffin as a coach. One reason.
