This deserves its own topic, IMO. If you disagree, let me know and I'll stick it in the Death thread.

This is huge.

More traffic here. Plus, it could have consequences for the entire football world.

yup, if expulsion is a viable option, the B1G could get rid of some dead weight!

There is zero chance expulsion will be an option.

More traffic here.
That's only because you doofuses are afraid to make two clicks instead of one.  It's weird.

FYI, Ross Dellenger was an LSU beat guy for years before getting picked up by Yahoo, who recognized his body of credible work.  He's not some, er....yahoo....sensationalizing and trying to get clicks.

That said, all this means to me is people are really talking.  I don't think he's making it up.  But it's just talk.  There's 0 chance the conference is going to expel a charter member over this.

I also think there a less than 1% chance LSU actually goes through with anything the league genuinely threatens them over.  They're crazy, not stupid.

Also....I wonder why all the focus is on LSU?  Texas has one of these NFL cast-offs too.  A bunch of schools are trying to work out how to take them.  There's way more players involved in this suit than the two "LSU" guys.

My own opinion, there's not much the SEC can do with TROs, but once those expire (and I hope their renderings are not made permanent), I hope the league holds firm and backs LSU down.  LSU pushed the lines long before this NIL era in being the first school to pay assistants million dollar salaries, then two-million dollar salaries, escalating a money-war that ultimately was not a good thing imo, and between that existing culture, a political and donor class that's steeped in the amount of corruption they are, combined with Lane Kiffin at the helm.....this was always going to be a runaway train, and one reason I didn't want Kiffin as a coach.  One reason.

THIS,The BIG should have stopped at UNL. And not let Ann Arbor Community College back in after they backed out,  .Though I wouldn't have minded VTech coming aboard some years ago

Ya the Browns could send half their roster to Baton Rouge and help out both programs immensely

There's a difference between Texas or anybody else taking a chance on an opportunity that comes knocking.

With LSU their recent pattern of exploiting procedural gray areas, testing limits of existing rules, and rushing take advantage of loopholes before clearer controls can take effect is widespread across the entire athletic department.

Point taken, though I think what the basketball program is doing is a different category than what the football program is doing.  Basketball is on a whole other level of insanity.

However, if the rumors that LSU actively encouraged NFL players to return to school turn out to have any legs, then your earlier comment about being the first school to tamper with an NFL roster goes from being an offhanded joke to "Well-of-course-they-did-because-that's-where-we-are-now."  I'd think the NFL would eventually get involved in that.  Surely they wouldn't sit by while a school (or schools) interfered with their member teams' operations.
