It's cute that you guys think that do not disturb signs keep the staff out of your room. They still go in there when you're out and about in order to check on things. They just don't clean up while they are in there.

No chance they don't that.  If they walked in on something private they would open themselves up to a lawsuit.

I'm sure it's happened more than a few times - more times than a hail mary has been converted

perhaps the lawsuits are hushed up with a payment?

I grab a cup and go straight back to my room.
Exactly. I never sit in those breakfast rooms. If I wanted to be around snots I'd just blow my nose.

just staying in the room is by far the best - drinking my coffee in my room at the Cornhusker Marriott while I type

Companies that won't leave me the hell alone with either promotional emails or app notifications.

What got me is now that NFL has started, I loaded up the ESPN Fantasy app. Holy shit they're spamming me like goddamn crazy with notifications! Not just crap related to my team. Not just crap related to my league, or even just football. I got some crap about Kawhi Leonard even though I'm not in a fantasy basketball league. I swear on non-gamedays I'm getting at least 10-15 notifications. And during games yesterday? Probably triple digits.

Then there's the emails. Heck, I have accounts with the credit bureaus b/c I keep my credit frozen unless I need it. Well, I'm getting at least an email a day from Experian. Offering me credit cards, loans. They just said "you can refi your auto loan"--umm, I'm pretty sure you're not giving something lower than 1.9%, guys... They're congratulating me for things like having a perfect payment history for the last 8 months since I opened the account. You're the credit bureau... You should know I've had a perfect payment history for 20+ years.

And then there's the retailers. Order one thing, and suddenly a company thinks you need an email every day in case you want to order more. And the worst is when it's something you ordered, where you bought someone a gift, and now the company is spamming you despite the fact they don't offer products you yourself would ever actually want. Before Christmas I did some research on sports bras because I know my wife was getting regularly annoyed [one of her pet peeves] by sports bras without fixed / sewn-in pads. They always get all screwed up in the laundry. So I found a brand that was reportedly comfortable with sewn-in pads, and I got to be the hero husband by alleviating her pet peeve. Well now I've got my own pet peeve. "Brad, we're running low on your size! Order soon!" Sorry, y'all, but I can guarantee I'm not a 34D.

These companies have zero chill.
I think I may have posted the same subject awhile back.

Either I just don’t understand or these companies are really thick. In what world do you need to spam me 3-4 times per week?  I guess there is just a % of people who can’t resist and just buy buy buy ?
for me it would work much better to just have one or two offers every few months. 4-5 times per year.
it usually stops once I hit unsubscribe but it just annoys the hell outta me.

This is an odd pet peeve of mine…but anytime in movies or tv when they depict the Apollo landing sites on the moon they always depict it with a fully intact Lunar Module and not just the descent stage that was left on the moon. It’s happened in movies like Transformers Dark of the Moon, Futurama, and a few others over the years. The part with the cabin, the ascent module, were left in orbit and either are still out in space somewhere, crashed into the moon, or burned up in Earth atmosphere.

On occasion, I donate some money to some charity, and that starts an avalanche of mail, regular mail, back to me, which goes in the garbage.  I think they spend what I donate on mail.

I talk to a lot of customers on the phone, and subsequently end up taking a lot of information down. Name, phone number, addresses, etc.

Not much can be done if your names is Johannesburg Pewterschmidt or something.  Same with addresses.

But these emails these people have?  Are you freakin’ for real?  People, it’s simple. First name.  Last name. Dot your birth year. Or something easy. John.H.Smith1977@gmail.com or Jane.V.Doe@yahoo.com.

Not johnlovesracecarsexceptcamaros@yahoo or something completely asinine.

Don’t over complicate it. If you just can’t get the right name, throw in some easy numbers.
