OT - Pet Peeves Thread

I'm OK with pod coffee as far as taste.  The type that takes time is the machines that frind the beans and you wait will it gurgles.  They sometimes have an urn nearby, pour and go.  That coffee is the same, to me.

I like the French press because it's easy to clean after.

I got written up at work once for a "safety violation" because I had a one cup coffee maker at my desk.  The penalty was to condict the next safety review of the offices, which I did next month, sort of, no violations anywhere!!!  I "hid" my coffee maker beneath my desk.  Didn't get dinged after that.  Scam to force me to buy coffee at the cantina.

We once had some lady come through and interview us for how comfortable our desk stations were.  I complained the desk level was too low for me.  She looked amazed and said I could maybe get building services to raise the desk height for me.  She wanted everyone to say it was fine.  I knew that, of course never took any steps to change anything.  I guess the VP could check a box.

As soon as I get into my room, I hang the DND door tag.  I’m not messy, and don’t require a cleaning.  I bet housekeeping loves me.

My wife does that. But this was a business trip, so I was alone.

Why not just go downstairs and drink better coffee?

We're headed to NYC for two nights precruise.  My wanted wanted to see a concert, the cheapest ticket was $320.  Yeow.

It's cute that you guys think that do not disturb signs keep the staff out of your room. They still go in there when you're out and about in order to check on things. They just don't clean up while they are in there.

I don't know why any hotel staff would enter my hotel room past a DND sign.  Maybe if I stayed a week with that sign they would.

In Honolulu we got a nastygram under our door that after the 3rd day of DND, they would need to come into the room to do a welfare check. 

We let them know at the front desk we were fine.

I guess that makes some sense, but at least they inquired first.

My wife usually asks for extra towels and coffee.

We stayed nine nights in Amsterdam at a Doubletree where we had some fairly significant issues.  We rarely have issues at Hilton properties, but it happens.
