No way I was waiting for full retirement age.  The second I stopped working, I started collecting.

Nope.  Absent some calamity, I'll be waiting until full retirement bennies and keep on grinding.  It's so much fun, what would I do with myself all day?

I'm a boater and I want to take up golf. Can't do both while still working.

As it stands, I don't use my boat as much as I want to.

I'm a boater which is one reason I've never taken up golf.

Another reason is that golf sucks.

Golf sucks to watch, but I found it enjoyable to play.

For a while, anyway.

I didn't take to it quickly, and it frustrated me exceedingly, and it was too easy in those days to go to a gym or open court somewhere and join a basketball game and do something I was already good at.

So I dropped it.

It takes a massive amount of time to get any good.  Which is why I no longer fit in that category, if I had ever approached it.

Time or money. As with any skill, a good coach can cut development time significantly, and take a person further than they'd ever get on their own.

Sure wish I had good coaches when I started.

It was not until I was playing men's night when I was about 26 my landlord/insurance agent taught me how to actually hit a draw--with the very simple advice to think about a softball swing and trying to hit the ball over the 2nd baseman's head.  Which is counterintuitive as hell.  Swing right, ball moves left.

But I don't think a coach can really affect your touch around the greens.  Unless you're a mechanical mathematician like DeChambeau, I guess.  It's feel and touch.

When I tried it for a while, my game was very even.

I sucked at both driving and putting.
