I definitely have an affinity for female lead Alt Rock type bands.  (old school: Bjork, Sonic Youth, Portishead, Sleater-Kinney, Liz Phair, PJ Harvey, to more recent: St. Vincent, Courtney Barnett, Japanese Breakfast,  'Alvvays', Big Thief, Wet Leg. 
Alvvays is Canadian, sublime bubble gum, shoe gazing rock.  Seen them a few times, even my youngest (teen) was a big fan.  Wet Leg is super fun (BFE) UK based band.

here's a good one, South Bend/Chicago origins, they've been around for a little bit, but a new album lately.  Ratboys.

I ran across this band 4 or 5 years ago, they're an Italian rock band and apparently they won Eurovision in 2021.  They're no ABBA of course, but they've got a couple of bangers.
