I remember thinking these looked pretty sporty back in the day:

I was on my morning run last Saturday and I was going through a new neighborhood that's not on my normal route.  I ran past a house with an open garage and a man working on his car.  I had to stop and do a doubletake, because it was one of these:

The dude looked up and caught me staring, and I just had to loop back and stop to talk to him about.  My goodness it was a beautiful car.

Years ago, we were strolling around the village my step daughter lived in at the time and came across a "car show".  There were only four cars, but one was a Corvette.  I also stopped and chatted some, the dude's English was no better than my French.  It was a '69 as I recall, red convertible, worth some change.

If I could fit in a Miata, I probably would have bought one.  I did try, and can't.  The salesman laughed at me.  The next new car up from that I suppose is a Mustang, that Toyota/Subaru cross is worth a look.  I like the sound of the Mustang 5.0.

Huh, apparently Fox body Mustang prices are soaring as a result of renewed popularity stemming from Tiktokers reviving the brand.  Darn, now I wish I'd held onto my 1983 GLX convertible.

Here's Vanilla with his 1989 5.0

And a better picture of it now, restored.  He still owns it:
