I'm impressed that you don't support the farce.
Why?

I could maybe justify Braile on an ATM if you don't think about it too much.

Yeah, but generally how would they enter their code and hit the right buttons on a screen?

They'd need help.  I'm thankful I'm not blind.  I've heard being deaf is worse, not sure about that.  I've been told I have no taste.

I think it would be awful to be blind, but if I could not listen to music anymore, I think that would terminally depress me.

I'm pretty sure any post on Facebook with some attention grabbing headline that says "Link Below" is ... click bait.

And I've clicked a few times.

The other gimmick is to claim something obviously untrue that has an exception to get clicks.

The other annoyance is showing some really bad AI "map" or photo that is misleading.

I don't really understand why getting clicks is a benefit to anyone.

Yeah, and old people are the target of the AI posts with errors.  There's nothing old people like more than to point out obvious errors.

Yeah, BUT you could still feel music, with the bass turned up or something.  Feeling that beat would be a decent placeholder, I think.
I'd choose deafness over blindness.  It's an independence thing with me.

Link in the first comment is basically required due to facebook and twitter algorithm suppressing posts with links. If they change their algo, publisher behavior will change.

Engagement bait is present on both platforms because publishers are paid on engagement metrics.

Depends the definition of "click bait." Facebook made it so posts with links got suppressed viewership. Some people argue "click bait" is only that if the thing you click misled you there. Like if it doesn't deliver. If anything that someone tries to get you to click on is "bait" then that means almost everything is bait in one way or another.

Getting clicks can generate money for whoever's site gets the click (not much, but some).
