I'm happy.

I'm not a fan of SoCal summer. A little too hot for my liking.

And yet, SoCal summer isn't THAT bad--especially considering Midwest summer sucks. SoCal is not humid, and mosquitos aren't a big deal. So comparatively, even though I don't like the heat, I think SoCal summer is still better than Midwest summer.

But SoCal winter? Light years better than Midwest winter!

So we're exiting IMHO SoCal's worst season (which isn't frankly that bad) and getting into the good stuff.

Down here in the Southeast, we’re still in the last throes of extended summer.

It’s gross and I look forward to it breaking.

I wouldn't say it's gross, but yeah, it will be nice when that "cold" front comes through this weekend.

Humidity is going to drop like a rock, while temps will still be in the mid/upper 80's. That's perfect.

Good timing!  41 degrees here in Michigan this morning.   Will be back in Florida by noon Saturday.

When I was in Maui this summer I was a little grumpy that it was over 90 American Fun Units during several of the days we were there. I'm quite partial to my highs in the mid-70s. And my lows in the low 50s. Good thing, because that's the weather most of the year around here. Which does not make me grumpy.

Where we stay in Hawaii is nearly always 70°F at night and 80°F in the day and sunny.  It's called the Sun Coast.

My wife loves it there.  It is a resort area of course.  I like to take a dip in the ocean and look out at snow about 40 mile distance on Mauna Kea.  She has a zero birthday next year and wants the family to join us there, those who can.

My wife's step-dad, the retired oral surgeon, had my clan go along with them and stay in the adjacent studio to their timeshare at the Westin Kaanapali just north of Lahaina about 20 years ago.  To get the plane ride allegedly cheaper, we were signed up for a different timeshare that came with airfare through some travel agency.  Bugged me that that place was sitting empty for a week.  But, it saved a few nickels, and he used them travelling the world with my mother in law.
