Coffee grinds somehow blocked the bottom of the brew basket this morning, resulting in an overflowing coffee machine. Grrrr. That made me grumpy.

I've used a French press for years now, though in reality the coffee tastes the same to me.  I use Costco Columbian, which is pretty decent for the money though it has doubled in price in 4 years.

I recall in grad school back in 1884 or so when I'd get into the lab and start up the percolator.  I used some A&P brand called "Bokar", it made decent coffee.  My lunch usually was a baloney sandwich with mustard, nothing else but bread.

When you get old, aside from the obvious, I think one spends too much time thinking back.  I awoke at 4 AM and my brain started firing off on "stuff" so I got up, and made coffee.  No spills.

I've been working on my back muscles and it is sore sore sore.  I go to the gym and then the pool, probably a pretty good regimen in this heat, which has not abated much, though we have not had an official 100°F day, just a lot of high 90s.

I had a grumpy am last week when my mind was firing much of the night, slept like crap and it was the one morning I didn’t have to do much.

The other four, I went to the gym or had an appointment, so there would be value in saying “screw it” and starting early. Instead, it happened the one day where it made sense to try to get some rest back.
