And Karma is B!tch. Since I bragged about Columbus being in First, and Austin not playing the Crew have lost two straight. So, I humbly offer an apology to our Austin fan here.
In other News Austin Bold had 5,800 fans sell out their shiny new stadium.
Heheh... you're not gonna rile me up, Typhon. It's all good. Remember, I actually AGREED with you that the team shouldn't be moved. I hate it when owners do that. I wish the Crew all the best.
I'd love to have an MLS team in Austin, I'll likely attend a few matches per year. But I didn't ever want it to happen at the expense of another franchise, especially not one with the history and support of Columbus. Seems like things are working out for the best for the Crew and its fans, which is awesome.
There's still opposition and some hurdles in Austin to having one, like I said a long time ago, the Austin City Council regularly screws up even the simplest deals, and this one is far from that. But I'm hopeful they'll still be able to build the new stadium in the area originally approved, which is super convenient for me and close to many of the local breweries which is another plus. I can definitely see some pregaming or postgaming at the Celis Brewery, within easy walking distance of the stadium site.
