I’m working on Robert Caro’s LBJ series. It is extremely well done, although I am worried I will be reading it for the rest of my life.

I think most public libraries accept book donations if you have nothing else. I've also donated to Goodwill.

Use to have a couple thousand books. Gave away, sold donated most of them except for my treasures.

I converted a large portion of them to kindle and I only buy kindle books or borrow books from the library via kindle

I've tried reading on electronic devices, I just don't like doing it.  I'm still all about the old-school paper stuff.

We have two full floor-to-ceiling library walls in our house, full of books. Many hundreds for sure, though probably not a thousand. I thought about getting rid of some of them, but then my kids became interested in reading and they've been going through a lot of my old stuff, so I guess it's worked out okay.

I can't imagine reading on something like an iPad or other traditional "tablet".

But for me, the Kindle is so unobtrusive that I don't even feel like I'm reading on an electronic device.

My daughter has two different Kindles, I don't like reading with either one of them.  It's a tactile preference, as much as anything.

We recently had some work done on our offices here, some wall repair, depopcorning ceilings, I had to move my two bookcases, which mean unloading the books.  I set aside about 30 to "donate" somewhere, and the bookcases refilled are still full.  My wife wants me to get rid of more.  I did stumble across stuff I forgot I had, and lost my Bose headphones which I need tomorrow, but eventually found them tucked away.

As for reading on my iPad, it works for me.  But I'm the kind of guy always first to adopt new things.  We young fellers are like that.

Don't get me wrong, different strokes for different folks. I can do the Kindle, but I'd probably lose it trying to read on a traditional tablet. I do still like the experience reading paper books; I just don't like it ENOUGH to deal with the extra cost of most books, and the extra hassle of getting rid of them since I don't live in a mansion with a library wing like you do :57:

I've got some S.I. issues and some other "collectibles"

I wouldn't call them books
