Never really got into Seinfeld. It seemed like every episode was a stand up observational comedy bit trying to be transferred into sitcom format.

To me, it never felt like it worked.

I get it.  To each their own.

it may still be the number one ranked TV show that ever existed in terms of sitcom’s.  I know it was number one for many many years running including when it finally ended it went out on top

What is the deal with this coffee table?

I don't see any coffee on it, it's technically not even a table.

It should be called a bong drum.

The rerun we watch here is Law and Order, and I think the writing is terrific.

All in the Family

The Dick Van Dyke Show

Mary Tyler Moore Show

These all deserve recognition, too.

I can understand that because it was essentially Jerry's role in the show. He more or less played himself, is not a great actor, and his character wasn't overly interesting.

What made the show great was Larry David. He created four anti-heros with few to no redeeming qualities, but they somehow came off as likeable. It took them a little while to find their legs, had 3-4 seasons of perfection, then waned toward the end as Kramer became a caricature and George's part became increasingly overacted. Elaine was the only character I felt was basically perfect throughout the show's run.

This is also not in the conversation for Best TV Show Ever because it's only midway through its second season...

But if you have access to Apple TV+, check out Ted Lasso

Quick synopsis without giving anything away (all in the first episode of season 1). Rich lady takes English Premier League team from her philandering husband in their acrimonious divorce. She says it's the only thing he truly cares about, so she decides to ruin it, sacks the coach, and hires an FCS or DivII college football coach, Ted Lasso, who just won his level's national championship, expecting him to show up and be a complete embarrassment. Hilarity ensues.

Ted Lasso is played by Jason Sudeikis, and he's phenomenal in the role. Most of the other actors I've never seen before of heard of, but the acting and the writing is superb, and the show is absolutely bonkers funny.
