Omicron Update Poll: Have you had Covid

Have at it.

The way Omicron ripped through this country has me thinking at least some of us have had it.

I had to select "Nope" because I've had no symptomatic illness of any type. And I've never been COVID tested, so I never had a chance to learn of an asymptomatic infection.

But all that means is that I don't *think* I've had it.

Yeah same here.  It's entirely possible I've had it and it was asymptomatic or very mildly symptomatic.  I haven't had the antibody test since June of 2020, so any number of waves since then could have caught me.

I did have some mild body aches and a cough that started back before Christmas, I took one of our home tests and it showed negative, so I dismissed it as seasonal allergies aka cedar fever.  The aches are a normal symptom of my seasonal allergies but the cough isn't.  Now that we know the home tests don't really pick up Omicron, it's possible I had it then.

I don't know it was Omicron but I assume it was.  Test results came back positive on Sunday.  Had really only 2 days of mild symptoms - some body aches and congestion.  The rest of the days I have just noticed I am more tired at night. Wife and son may have had it too but they weren't tested.  Daughter somehow tested negative.

Not that I know of.   Three tests over the last 18 months- all negative.

Now I did get sicker than hell in September 2019, before this thing we all know about had made its public appearance. All the ear marks and the doctor struggled to understand what it was so they just called it the flu.  Who knows.

So 12yr old has symptoms + exposure to cv positive kid recently  .  We test today.....negative.    ?

I'm convinced I've had it at some point but zero positive tests to show for it.

I've been hearing that it's often not showing up positive in tests until 4-5 days in.

Son now had his second "close contact" email from the school in basically as many weeks, yesterday being the potential exposure. Thankfully he went to his mom's house after school today and will be there until the 28th, so I might have dodged a bullet on that one. It's unlikely exposure yesterday would have made him contagious yesterday, so I hope we're in the clear.

I suspect that there's been an outbreak at work because there are some masked individuals all of a sudden. The gal I work alongside was out sick for a week and didn't get tested. Now she's back with no mask, so maybe I will get it. I got some double shot vaccine quite a while back. No "booster" though, whatever that is. Probably won't get it either, since I can't find that stupid card that says that I got the first two.

Yeah, the exposure was 5 days ago, her symptoms were 24 hrs ago, test today, a rapid and then once neg, we did a strep test, my MD wife was convinced she has strep based on her exam of her and kids history of strep,  that's negative so we did PCR, also negative.  Strep culture sent, that's a 1 in 10 to come back pos.

Silly shit.   She feels and looks like crap, so I genuinely think she's sick with a non covid illness.  A kid at her age doesnt eat only a cup of pudding and half a milkshake in 30+ hrs.

But, these schools and sports have these playbooks and were running 'em.

And Afro proving he is still King Ass.

From New York Times: "The number of Americans hospitalized with Covid-19 has surpassed last winter’s peak..."

Death rates are way down. Yah! But, hospital rates aren't sky high because this bug is 'asymotomatic' it's a nasty bug still hitting a large section of our populace hard.

I've been tested Numerous times, and haven't had any version of Covid. My youngest pick it up from school in Dec. But the rest of us were able to take care of her and not get it ourselves.
