Those are some stand-up OOC schedules, CD.

I don't think Saban will be coaching Alabama in 2027-28. Good scheduling on Gene Smith's part.

Whoever is HC these 4 years is going to bitch to the AD and at least 1 of them will be canceled between now and then.

When I was a student, FSU (an independent) in 1981 scheduled:
Nebraska (#17)
Ohio State (#7)
Notre Dame
Pitt (#3)
LSU
Miami (#13)
S. Mississippi (#13)
Florida

FSU went 6-5, overall. It was in one of Bobby Bowden's early years, and with that schedule, it was a heckuva result. They defeated Ohio State, Notre Dame, LSU, Louisville, Memphis State and Western Carolina.

Either your schedule will be replaced, or if they go through with this nonconference scheduling, your coach will be replaced.

I think they think that a couple OOC losses won't be pivotal, if they happen, e.g., lose 2 of 3 OOC contests and win the division and you could be an impressive 10-3.

I personally don't think an "impressive 10-3" should make even an 8 teamer, but whatever.  It helps that GaTech may well be a pastry then as now.  Or not.  I had thought the Dawgs should drop Tech to play a better schedule, but perhaps keeping them is OK if they play a better schedule.

You can eliminate Oklahoma in 2031 now. UGA plays at Oklahoma in 2023. Oklahoma will buy out of the return game.

Scheduling H/H eight years apart is stupid.

I'm not sure why UGA could get bought out of that return game.

Some feared that ND would buy their way out, but they didn't.  That was just two years apart though.

Envy, you have to find something bad to say about another program.

Envy!? something bad to say? WTF!? Nothing bad about buying out of a game. Happens all the time, which is the basis of my assertion. If that was not the case, OAM would not have brought it up in the first place.

Georgia perhaps needing to unload a game vs. a P5 opponent would mean that Georgia would hypothetically be needing to take action.  There is no incentive whatsoever for OU to buy out of that game.  It may have happened, but I am unaware of OU buying out of a "marquee" game in the last 50 years.

And Georgia doesn't need the money.  This isn't like buying out Appy State or someone.  The separation in time between games is because of who else was scheduled in between, nothing else.  If OU wants out, they probably are stuck.  And I can't see why they would want out anyway.

I didn’t know OU and Nebraska had a home and home coming up. That’s terrific.
