Good article on how OSU's offense may look compared to the past couple years.  It's at least looking like a better plan - simple reads for JT based off of the running game and trying to get the defense to think a lot.  There run and passing looks should be a lot more similar than they had.

Hoping that it works for JT and crew. I love those low risk 5-8 yard plays. Puts so much pressure on a defense that is facing 2nd and 3 or 3rd and 1.

Those 5-8 yard plays are fine until you prove you don't have the ability to go much further downfield than that and the other team begins to put 9 men in the box. Although you hate to see a wasted play going for an unsuccessful long downfield throw, it keeps the defense from loading up the box on you.

This is what hurt the offense last year. They failed to show the ability to go over the top to the point where TSUN and Clemson did not respect anything down field and loaded up to contain everything within a 10 yd box. And against a good, athletic defense, going sideways does nothing but allow the defense to leverage the sideline to force the ball back towards the defense.

Exactly.  The 2015 game is what happens with the other.  Let a team put 9 on the box and it tends not to go well.

So I think Wisconsin, Nebraska, Minnie, Iowa and NU are all going to be pretty good this year.

The West should come down to Wisconsin and whichever of the other four can step it up.

It may simply all come down to THE GAME between Minnie and UW on the last weekend.

Any thoughts?

I think you might be thinking of someone else, I mailed it in in November and didn't watch more than a couple scattered plays for the rest of the year.  I didn't even watch the lone conference win over Rutgers.  I did see some snippets of MSU-OSU in channel surfing, but I don't recall having an opinion on it.  Maybe I've forgotten though.

You Sparties all look alike to me.

Lol. You mean the other Game.

Iowa and Minnie finish 1 - 2 in your div.

Saw an interview with OSU's DB coach where he said they are going to start rotating corners more liberally.  That Clemson had a series in the Fiesta Bowl where they brought out new WRs on 3 straight plays and just ran vertical gos.  By the third one the OSU CBs were so burned out they couldn't keep up, and that he's noticing this more and more.  The use of speedy backup WRs largely as decoys to just go run deep and wear out the corners.

This will certainly serve to widen the chasm between the haves and have nots. Unless you're bringing an A squad, an A- squad and a B+ squad, you're going to get passed by. IIRC, Alabama learned this the hard way. Just that they had the depth but didn't rotate like madmen against Ohio State.
