1) They're not actually drinking alcohol on TV. 2) You're worrying me a bit. If the bourbon is good enough, I have trouble only sipping it. Does that make me an alcoholic?

I know it’s just TV or whatever, but still. Is this realistic?  Does anyone drink liquor like this ?

My brother was an extra in a Bruce Willis movie, and had to drink the fake alcohol, while engaging in fake conversation with the other extras.

I often notice on TV and movies how somebody will pour themselves a drink.  Hard liquor. Usually from some unlabeled glass container, amber color. They then will fill their cup 1/2 or whatever. Then just casually take sips, or more. Meanwhile, I pour myself a very small amount, and despite my best attempts, I can’t drink it without making a face, or even coughing afterwards.

Even mixed drinks don’t go down smoothly.

How about you?
I have no such issue. Sometimes I wish I did.

I'm adopted and I think I just found my brother.

I haven't drank much of anything in years, but as I recall, it depended on what it was.  There were some vodkas and whiskeys I got a hold of that probably gave me a minor facial expression even if I tried to control it, which I wouldn't have thought to do.  There were other bourbons and whiskeys that were pretty smooth and I don't think they made me grimace.

You'd have seen me blanch at any beer I ever drank, because I never liked the stuff and it all tasted like horse piss to me.

If it is a good whiskey, I love to just sit and sip on it.  Throw in a good cigar and out on my porch even better.  Problem is I have too expensive taste when it comes to whiskey and I can't go out and buy a bottle of johnny walker blue without hearing from my wife.  Bad enough when an order of cigars come in.
